Math

We do 4 math rounds everyday.  We learned a couple new games last week to play with a buddy during math game time. They also do independent work with math buckets, seatwork, fact fluency and computers. Each student meets in a small group with me as well.

More States of Matter Learning....

We continued our science unit today by learning about the molecules in matter.
We learned that solids have the most molecules and they are very close together, liquid has less, and gas has the least.  We used Froot Loops to represent molecules on our papers.  Of course we got to eat some too. :)

Doing Great with our Daily 5 Routine

We continue to work on our stamina and routines during our reading time. They are doing a great job!

Word Work buckets

Work on Writing in Interactive Notebooks

Listen to Reading

Read to Self

Work on Writing in writing journals

Poetry Folders

The students have a poetry folder they keep in their book boxes. They got to go through them and read with a buddy.

"Selfies"

Our first writing project was an "About Me" selfie. They wrote about their families, where they live and what they like to do.

Science Experiment Fun!

We did a fun experiment to help with our understanding of solids, liquids and gases. They looked at 3 different balloons and wrote data about each one. Then we had fun popping them to see what form of matter was in each balloon. :)
The red balloons had water in them!

Everyone got a chance to pop a balloon.
Popping the balloons

They wrote some great data!

The blue ones had ice!
Talking about what is inside.

Ice is a solid!

Great data!
